Marnus Labuschagne Omitted from Australian ODI Team Versus Team India
Labuschagne finds himself omitted from the three-game ODI series against India, as in-form Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw getting a surprise call-up.
Recent Form Lead to Omission
Selectors dropped Labuschagne from the ODI squad after being dismissed for one in his two batting efforts during the recent series against South Africa in August. He has a best innings of forty-seven in his previous ten ODI innings.
The 31-year-old has featured in 68 ODIs and amassed 1,871 ODI runs at an average of 34.64 runs per dismissal, but will now work towards a Test team comeback in time for the Ashes beginning in Perth on November 21.
Renshaw's Return and Other Squad Updates
Recent performances suggest of a return to form with a score of 160 for Queensland in the domestic first-class competition this week, while Renshaw made a hundred for the Bulls in the identical match against Tasmania.
The left-hander may to make his first white-ball appearance in the upcoming series against India after previously being selected in an ODI squad in 2022.

“The majority of the T20 squad will stay as a group as it’s an important period in the preparation for the World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously get ready specific players for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India starts on October 19 in Perth, before the opponents play five T20 internationals from October 29.
